You shall not wrong a stranger or oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.  Exodus 22:21

Hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of mostly Muslim immigrants, with the vast majority being male, are streaming into Europe from the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia.  Some are fleeing war in their home countries while others are seeking economic opportunity or the liberal welfare benefits in countries like Germany and Sweden.

Problems are already occurring, with migrants committing rape and other violent crimes.  Summing up the clash of cultures and religions, a male Muslim immigrant reportedly said to a female in the check-out line at a supermarket: “I man. You woman. I go first.”

So why are many historically Christian European countries welcoming Muslim immigrants into their lands?  Is it really “a total Armageddon scenario” for Europe, as the secretary general of the Danish Refugee Council has called it?  What should Americans be learning for our own immigration policy?  And most important, what is the biblical view of immigration, especially in light of passages like Exodus 22:21 above?

Soeren Kern, a Christian geo-political analyst and senior fellow at the Gatestone Institute, has written a series of columns on the European immigration situation and is our guest this weekend on The Christian Worldview.
