Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.  Philippians 4:6

Anxiety is running high in America right now.  Many commentators say there has never been such a negative presidential campaign with the leading candidates being so unpopular and advocating such polarized visions for America.  People fear what will become of our country.

There is also anxiety on the streets, with racial tension between blacks and police, soaring murder rates in big cities, and fear of Islamic terrorism.  Economically, the country is in huge debt and slow growth, with health care insurance costs skyrocketing.

And of course there is the anxiety that comes from relational conflicts, wayward children, and serious health problems, to name just a few.

God’s Word tells us to “be anxious for nothing” but how do we put that into practice when there is so much that causes worry?  Join us this weekend as our guest Todd Friel, the author of Stressed Out: A Practical, Biblical Approach to Anxiety discusses Scripture’s prescription for peace instead of panic.
