Pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. – Apostle Paul, Ephesians 6:19-20

It’s been said that the Protestant Reformation not only altered the course of the Christian church but also the entirety of Western Civilization, including our American way of life today.

How did an era that started 500 years ago in 1517 and lasting into the mid-1600s have that much impact? What were the conditions in the years and centuries prior that led to the Reformation? What made the leaders of the Reformation so bold and why are the ideas and doctrines they espoused so important for us in 21st century America?

Dr. Stephen Nichols, our guest this weekend on The Christian Worldview, will answer these questions and more. Dr. Nichols is the president of Reformation Bible College, the chief academic officer for Ligonier Ministries, and the author of several books, including The Reformation: How a Monk and a Mallet Changed the World.

NOTE: One of the themes of The Christian Worldview Fall Conference on Sept. 15-16 is “The Reformation, Justification, and the Authority of Scripture.” Registration is not required, but if you’d like to be guaranteed a seat, you’ll need to register by Tue, Sept. 5 at TheChristianWorldview.org or call 1-888-646-2233.
