Guests: Jeff Schurrer and Tamara Windahl, Christ-Followers, Cancer-Battlers

Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10).

The C-word. Cancer. The very thought of it makes most people shudder. Over one million people are diagnosed with cancer each year in America—children, the elderly, and all ages in between.

There are many kinds of cancer that afflict almost every part of the body: lungs, skin, liver, brain, colon, prostate, and more. Some of the causes of cancer are known (smoking, diet, environment), but much more is still unknown about this often deadly disease. Worse, treatments for cancer can be as debilitating as the illness itself.

Cancer is a life changer … and for Christians, a real faith tester. This weekend on The Christian Worldview, we are going to hear from Jeff Schurrer, who is currently in the throes of battling cancer, and Tamara Windahl, who survived several bouts with the disease.

How can we find strength and hope when we face the trial of cancer in our own lives? How should we encourage others in the midst of their severe trial? We will try to answer these questions and more this weekend as we discuss “Cancer and the Christian.”
